Andrew Aldrich "Window on the Watershed" Photos

Andrew Aldrich

Andrew first started taking photographs in high school, graduated from the Art Department at the University of Albany, New York, and received his MFA from Mills College in Oakland. After years in other pursuits, he came back to photography “with an intent to document the places where I live and where I travel.”

“My photographic work is informed by my other primary pursuit: scholarly reading in the philosophy of place. My process in creating these pieces involves, on the one hand, the dance of form, texture, and color within and against a frame, and on the other hand, a reflection of placed existence as an inhabitant of the Sausal Creek Watershed, an Oaklander, a Californian, a Westerner.”
