What to Bring: Binoculars, water, a snack, and whatever else you need to be comfortable outdoors. We'll be walking short distances.

Jess Beebe,

Friends of Sausal Creek has been monitoring birds along Sausal Creek for many years. In 2003, birding outings started on a quarterly basis. General protocol includes documenting birds observed during a 10-minute period at each of several locations (aka "point count"). Data gathered by FOSC bird monitors will be used to evaluate the impact of the Friends' restoration activities.
Joining the bird monitoring team is an excellent way to learn about birds.
